Alyson D., M.A. in English

As an undergraduate and a master's student in the Department of English at the University of Pennsylvania—home to one of the best programs for English in the U.S.—I consistently received top marks for my papers in literary criticism, art history and criticism, and philosophy. My essay "A Hell from Which to Return: Print Theory, Deleuze and Guattari, and Rauschenberg's Inferno Series" was awarded the Dosoretz Prize for the best essay by a graduating senior in the English department.

Through both a B.A. and an M.A. in English, several years of experience writing and reading academic texts, and two years of scholarly proofreading experience working in-house for a poetics journal, I've developed a precise, thorough, and knowledgeable working of the English language.

I currently work processing ephemera at the John J. Wilcox, Jr Archives in Center City, Philadelphia, and I have previously worked as the Editor and Research Assistant for the Philadelphia AIDS Oral History Project.

My key strengths include thoroughness, subject knowledge, and a lazer-sharp eye for detail. I'd love to hear more about your project and I look forward to working with you!
